SANKOFA: Storytelling for a Digital Age

Sankofa is a word from the Twi language of Ghana that means ‘go back and get it’. We’re big believers in looking back to what has gone on before us in order to move forward.  We’re standing on the shoulders of giants after all.

In this project, we look back to the wisdom of folktales from around the world and comb them with digital technologies to explore the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The project aims to skill up children in powerful storytelling to change the world. In London, we are working with children across schools in East London, as they produce digital storytelling connect around the theme of Migration.

Our creative collaborators for this Erasmus Plus project are Cumbria DEC (project leads), SOSNA from Slovakia, and SEVER from the Czech Republic.

Funded by Erasmus Plus.
